My name is Conor McMahon. I am a journalist based in Dublin, Ireland.
I have a particular interest in covering offbeat business stories. Since leaving college I have specialised in tourism, media and tech.
I love podcasts and radio programmes. You can listen to my short radio documentary about the neurological phenomenon, synaesthesia, here. While I was an intern at MediaHQ.com, I researched and sometimes co-presented the bi-weekly Mediaflash podcast. I have also contributed packages to Monocle24, Monocle magazine’s digital radio station.
In June 2016, I worked as a multimedia journalist at the Global Editors Network Summit in Vienna, writing content for GEN’s blog on Medium.
In August 2013 and August 2015, I worked as a reporter and subeditor for Alpbach Media Academy at the European Forum Alpbach, Austria, contributing both multimedia articles for alpbach.org and feature pieces for the magazines produced at the end of each symposium.
I am the former editor and entertainment editor of Campus.ie, Ireland’s largest student website.
In 2015, I graduated from Dublin Institute of Technology’s School of Media with a BA in Journalism, earning a first-class honours degree.
